Chicks!!!
This Spring will see the addition of 3 baby chicks to my backyard garden.

At 2 days old, already flapping their tiny wings

This is Henny

This is Beatrice

And this, is Nelly

They spend most of their time napping and eating

Around 1 week they started flying up and out of their brooder

Little tails sprouted almost overnight!

The girls are almost 3 weeks old here

Henny with her lovely little red mustached beak

Enjoying time outside at 4 weeks old

Beautiful Beatrice

My next post will be coop progress pictures, then onto the plants of the season!

Early June I think?

PEONIES!!!!!!

These are the ill-fated pumpkin and cantaloupe plants that went in the ground beside the vegetable box planter.

Some time in late May or early June the huge white pine tree lets loose a fury of pollen that just coats everything in a powdery yellow dust. I can't have the windows open for almost a week.

Trying out placement of the grasses before I plant them...

A lovely bird stop area with a bath and some seeds :)

This little patch will end up taking over and filling every possible crack come fall.

Verbena, I think?

Front garden

Watermelon plants. Note to self, try not to drown them next summer.

Pink Oleander.
