Middle to End of May

It's getting harder to recall when these pictures were taken, but to the best of my recollection this is the end of May.

My friend Emily gifted me with and indoor tomato growing kit. It was exciting when they started to grow.

The strawberries are filling in nicely, they'll be juicy and red in about a week!

Raspberries! It will be over a month until these are ready to be picked.

Back row is Tomatoes, centre is planted red bell peppers, some basil on the right and parsley in the lower left corner.

This basil smells like savory Italian tomato sauce. Mmm

Cutting some Greek Oregano for dinner.

The Snow in Summer is getting so lush and bright!

FINALLY the Rose of Sharon is getting its first leaves. I was beginning to think it had died!

Such a lovely view. I can't wait for these peonies to bloom. They were looking pink at this point, I was sure the flowers would be fuscha. I was wrong...

The Russian Sage is contributing some much needed blue to a very green garden.

I sadly cannot remember the name of this plant! Its a spreading ground cover such as flowering Thyme and should have some lovely pink flowers in mid summer.

A dramatic purple coleus, too bad it's an annual.

Last years Irish moss is really filling in well now, I even have a few sweet white blooms that open every morning.

The Wolf's Bane has managed to withstand the trampling from the dogs and looks promising to flower in early fall.

Flowering thyme.

Lastly, this is the pitiful remains of a half dead grocery store Hydrangea plant from Mothers Day that I saved and planted in the garden... I'm hoping it will be beautiful someday.

Critter Post!

Because it's killing me that i'm so far behind and everything, I wanted to post something to make me smile.

The dogs scared this cat up the pole. I don't know how he scrambled up a metal pole?

Yucky spider pictures to follow! Warning....

By the way- Click on any picture to make it bigger and see awesome details!

Early May

Yikes! I've been behind on posting... I'm blaming it on my crippling grass allergies and a certain misbehaving child who takes up all my time. haha

This plant I got from Cheryl Braid, and it grows ling stalks with gorgeous smelling little white flowers.

I ripped out all the scraps of brick and jagged chunks of rock and laid down this pretty flat border. So much nicer.

These are a few newly planted stone crops. They have tiny yellow flowers in early June.

Roses starting to grow!

Jellybean Sedum is starting to fill in and spread outward.

Peonies are growing!!! You better believe I check these daily. haha

Strawberries

Newly planted Big Beef Tomatoes, King Arthur Red bell peppers, Basil and Parsley

Last years Raspberries are springing up all over the place

Young Bleeding Hearts

Astilbe I forgot I planted is growing, nice surprise.

The Forget Me Nots are starting to bloom

The old coral rosebush

The Hosta patch in the front garden is growing. And it keeps growing.

This is the front bed beside the hedges, not quite done yet but getting there.
